We suggest following these general recommendations for one month and if you still have problems write to us and we will be able to suggest individualized therapy for you.

Research on Anemia


Water Therapy:   We generally recommend doing Water Therapy  to cleanse the iron absorbing colon. Drink 1.5 liters of water first in the morning, using mild amount of flavors like ginger, cumin seeds, mint leaves, cardamom, coriander seeds, sarsparilla root powder, hibiscus flowers etc) for better results.


Earth Therapy:Being a vegetarian is not the reason for being anemic. It is because we polish our grains and eat iron deficient food. Soaking grains and cooking will break Iron binding phytates and so Iron is freely available for the body. The same way  Soaking beans and cooking different types of beans like kidney beans, soybeans, pinto, blue, black, adzuki beans etc is a good source of Iron.

Iron deficient anemia and raw sugar: Raw sugar is rich in iron and white sugar is devoid of iron. So, stop white sugar and use sugarcane unrefined sugar.

Eat fermented rice  and or  fermented barley for more effective results.


Vitamin-C is needed for iron absorption. Without having vitamin C, having iron rich foods alone will not help. We found this method of supplying small doses of iron highly effective. Take one orange and split it into eight pieces (it naturally has eight pieces). Then eat one piece before breakfast and another one after breakfast. One before lunch and after lunch. One before evening snack and after and one before and after dinner. so, eight pieces in one day, that is one day one orange. you can use Mossambi or tangerine of grapefruit (citrus family) also.

  Include more vegetables and fruits in your diet, especially leafy vegetables. Best is to use Moringa Leaves. The leaves can be used in soups as well as green-juice.

Other leaves in the form of chutney can be used to detoxify the liver as well as supplying iron.




    Very important is to cleanse the liver and intestines with Castor oil and Gallnut (cleansing)  before starting the Pancha Bhoota and you can alternatively do the cleanse every two months (one time castor oil , next time gall-nut cleansing).


Iron boosting - Liver -Tonic Chutneys:

    Every day eat the following chutneys. One per day. seven days seven chutneys and then repeat them again. All leaves should be raw and not heat sauted. But you can add coconut, red pepper, or black sesame seeds or
split peas dal and salt to make it tasty.

  1. Coriander  leaves chutney
  2. PhyllanthusNiruri  leaves chutney
  3. Bringraj   leaves chutney
  4. Curry leaves chutney
  5. Coriander  leaves chutney
  6. Mint leaves chutney
  7. Moringa  leaves chutney or use Aloe Vera  leaves

If you feel the chutney is bitter, then you can make it thick and make it as a small marble and swallow it with water. Make them small balls so that you do not choke yourself.

If you cannot afford fresh leaves, then get dried leaves and boil in water and drink the decoction.



Foods to be taken to improve iron levels

Organic greens like drumstick leaves soup, drumstick leaves chutney. Having drumstick leaves is highly effective in improving iron levels.

Intake of coriander leaves is also good.

Pomegranate juice with honey or raw pomegranate. ABC juice – vitamin B - Beetroot, vitamin A - Carrot and Vitamin C juice. For vitamin C, one of these - apple, Indian gooseberry (amla), lemon, orange, mossambi, pineapple can be added.

Organic black dates, organic black raisins with seeds. (Pregnant women can have this in moderate levels, one or two dates daily)

Organic Sesame seeds jaggery laddu two to three numbers a day. (Pregnant women should not have organic sesame seeds jaggery laddu)

Pasalai keerai with dhal and ghee with organic heirloom red rice is particularly good to improve iron.

Blackstrap molasses, daily one spoon is really good.


One Juice a day for seven days a week:

Drink these fresh juices, one a day and repeat the seven every week. It is easy. Just cut and put in blender with little water and dates if needed, blend and drink. Dates increases Iron.

1. Beet root and apple or carrot
2. Orange or carrot juice.
3. Pear and dates (you could other fruits like figs, jujube, Jambul etc)
4. Avocado with dates
5. papaya
6. Pine-apple juice or tomato juice.
7. pear or apple and dates (You could use sapota, peach, pomegranate, guava)

No bottled or canned. it should be made fresh and not filter it. Clear juices are free from fiber and so drink all juices with the pulp.

Fire Therapy:  Less walking causes poor stool (bowel) movements and that also contributes to constipation. Avoid being sedentary (more hours of sitting before computers or resting). Walk twice in the morning and evening.

Yoga is exceptionally good especially Surya Namaskar given in fire section. It helps in good lymphatic circulation.


Air therapy: Taking a long breath and relaxes every now and then reduces stress in the body. Doing Pranayama  5 minutes morning and evening is also good.
