Is Teff available or grown in India, specially in South India?

It seems not very much. But if there is a public demand, may be farmers will grow it.

Can Ragi (or Nachani) be used as diet in place of Teff?
Very much yes. Because they all belong to the same millet groups. Ragi is excellent food for all ages and both for healthy and sick people.

Can Ragi be acceptable as far as nutrition value and taste is concerned compared to Teff?

Yes Ragi is nutritionally as good as the other millets. Our concept is that all foods have their own nutritional value. Instead of eating one type of food, if we change foods according to seasons, then we get full benefits from different foods.
Please see the variety of millets that are grown in India and available in market...

Ragi (Elucine coracana), Shama Millet (Panicum sarmenntosum), Hog millet (Panicum miiiaceaum), pearl millet (Pennisetum-typhoidcum),... www.uni5.co/index.php/en/about-grains.html[]see for the table of such millets and grains .

Regarding taste...again each one has its own unique taste...as the saying going one cannot compare apples to oranges...

Cooking methods/recipes out of Ragi and Teff, how much resembles or differ from each other?

In our sakthi kitchen we have some recipes. But if public has more interest we will post more recipes in due course of time.

cooking forms

1. Puttu forms of millet cooking (steam crumbs)

2.Dosa (pan cake) forms of millets

3.Idli - Steamed pan cake
