Nellikkai Arishtam to be mixed with Arka for effective cancer treatment. Arishtakam and Arka Shastra was written by the great king Ravana as Arka-Shasthram. This is the distillation knowledge of Ancient India. This is a natural way to extract Nellikkai (Amla Gooseberry) medicinal compounds and digest with microbes and increase its medicinal potency. When foreigners came they saw distillation (Saarayam) and called it Arrack (from the word Arka).

Ravana was a great scholar in Ayurvedic/Siddha medicine authoring books on health sciences.
He developed unique way of extraction from herbs called Arka, recorded as Arka Shastra information herbal usage, and cures of many diseases.
His other book, Arka Prakasha is about with tinctures or asavas.
His book Kumara Tantraya on treatment of infant diseases shows he was a pediatrician too.
