Diet and Crohn's disease: characteristics of the pre-illness diet.


Thirty newly diagnosed patients with Crohn's disease were interviewed about their habitual, pre-illness diet and compared with 30 healthy controls, matched for age, sex, social class, and marital status. The patients ate substantially more refined sugar, slightly less dietary fiber, and considerably less raw fruit and vegetables than the controls. A diet high in refined sugar and low in raw fruit and vegetables precedes and may favor the development of Crohn's disease.


Earth Therapy

One Juice a day for seven days a week

     Drink these fresh juices, one a day, and repeat the seven every week. It is easy. Just cut and put in a blender with little water and dates if needed, blend and drink.
The juices aim to coat the damaged mucosal lining with these plant medicines which will heal the wounds. When you have a cut on your finger and if you touch any spicy or sour things it hurts a lot. Same way when those who eat food while suffering from inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) like Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis stomach ulcers or acid reflux, these wounds cause so much pain. We apply a bandage on the finger to avoid pain. Similarly, we need to put a band-aid on these stomach wounds. Aloe vera is the best in coating the mucosal lining and prevent pain and also allow those wounds to heal quickly. 

    Do all the juices every day, but most important is the aloe vera juice. The Banana stem juice is also very good. They form like a band-aid to the wound inside the stomach. Like we avoid getting the skin wound wet during the healing, avoid salty and spicy food.

Remember Aloe Vera and Banana stem juice are powerful band-aids to coat the stomach wound and heal it. Drink it before breakfast on empty stomach.

  1. Aloe Vera juice freshly prepared from the plant. This excellently heals the damage caused by acid reflux. You can mix it with carrot juice also and drink it. The combination works well. 
  2. Bottle Gourd juice
  3. Bilva fruit or fresh juice
  4. Banana stem juice or coconut milk (fresh and not canned) or Fresh cabbage juice with a pinch of saunf.
  5. Aloe Vera juice 
  6. Cucumber juice with a pinch of cardamom powder
  7. coriander leaf fresh juice
  8. Ripe Pomegranate fresh fruit or fresh juice

Try using all organically grown foods for the best results.


Fenugreek Therapy

 Soak one teaspoon full of organically grown fenugreek seeds (only organically grown gives the best result) in lukewarm water in a cup of water (use glass or porcelain vessel) and allow to stay overnight in a warm place. Drink the water before food and eat the raw seeds after foods. This absorbs the acid of the stomach. You can also use the fenugreek seed powder to absorb the acid of the stomach. This fenugreek therapy works amazingly.

Eating garlic chutney once a day is good. Within a few months, you will see the amazing cure. But do all the five elements to get guaranteed success. 

Fermented Rice

Pazhaya saadam - the word means "old rice". This preparation is called Pazhaya saadam pazhankanji / kulutha choru and Paaniwala chawal in Hindi.
Eat fermented rice and or fermented barley for more effective results. Cook rice and soak in plain water (or butter-milk) overnight preferably in a clay vessel, then mixed nicely the next day morning mix with a dash of buttermilk, shallots (pearl onions), and salt. Eat (rather drink) this highly nutritious vitamin B-rich fermented food that will quench the acidity of the body and good to cure stomach or peptic ulcer or in acid reflux problems. This is a simple home remedy for ulcers. The micro-organisms produced during the fermentation balance the pH of the stomach. It also replenishes healthy bacteria in the gut caused by the abuse of antibiotics.
Similar preparation of Bajra Millet will also reduce acid reflux and also heal the wounds of ulcers in the stomach.

Triphala Powder 

Strengthen Liver: Everyday night takes one teaspoon of Triphala powder in 50 ml of hot water. (Please Click here to find the link to buy this herb).
Include more vegetables and fruits in your diet that soothes your stomach and intestines. Avoid any kind of meat foods.

Water Therapy 

We generally recommend doing Water Therapy to mitigate these problems. But many patients report that not all are benefitted initially from water therapy, but first healing the damage and then doing water therapy helps. Instead of drinking plain room temperature water, you can drink lukewarm water (with general flavors like mint leaves, cardamom, sarsparilla root powder, hibiscus flowers, etc) for better results.

So do water therapy after you heal the ulcer.


Fire Therapy 

Yoga exercises. Do the comfortable yoga steps. Don’t strain. When yoga is done, feel that the toxins like excess salts in the body are removed and the body is healed. Self-acupressure is a very healing yoga method.

Yoga is very good especially Surya Namaskar given in the fire section. It helps in good lymphatic circulation. Sarvangasana is also good.

Chron's disease cure testimony following uni5 

Crohn's IBD disease Cured  For the past 8 years from 2012 I have been suffering from Crohn's disease, a type of inflammatory, irritable bowel disease (IBD). I went for diagnosis in several hospitals and done multiple tests including endoscopy and colonoscopy as well. For the last five years, I am on medication with  Azoron Cyloric 125 mg. I was instructed to avoid fiber content food from my diet and also forced to take non-vegetarian food.
Despite these, I was having stomach pain and diarrhea regularly. My inflammation index CRP (C-reactive protein was at the highest around 120.

Last year I got in touch with Uni5 Sakthi The foundation team and was suggested to take “pazham kanji “ rice porridge cooked (fermented rice) overnight and eaten with curd early in the morning on empty stomach, and some fresh fruit juices. Along with the diet I was suggested to do meditation and yoga which I was not frankly following regularly, due to my busy schedules. But I strongly believe it can bring big changes to my life.
